Hello, I’m Claire. I am a full-time artist living and working in the Hampshire countryside. Moving between drawing and painting, my work explores the quiet of the inner-world and the childhood ability of looking with wonder and curiosity; creating stories rather than offering explanations. Daily walks through woodland, a space long associated with stories and folklore, the outside world is quietened and magic and nature become one of the same. Images emerge from my unconscious, imbued with the shapes, colours, movements and atmosphere I observe and absorb, woven with half remembered dreams, imagination and fragmented memories. I hope my ethereal artworks offer a place of sanctuary, where reality is suspended and the imagination can wonder.
