About me

Many thanks for taking a look at my work. Living in rural Hampshire, I'm immersed in nature everyday; dwarfed in the expanse of rolling hills or embraced by woodland. Familiarity with the landscape allows my thoughts to wonder freely; the world outside is paused, my senses and imagination start to connect to a world beyond what I can see.  I begin my paintings with loose expressive marks, feeling my way into the painting and being open to where it may take me. The process of building layers is essential for me in exploring and understanding a place or moment - it is only then that I can then begin to make decisions about what to reveal and what to hide, offering glimpses of what came before and what lies beyond.
