about
Claire Breitsprecher, b 1977, is a contemporary artist, living and working in the Hampshire countryside. Working mostly with oil pastels, pencil and acrylic, her practice explores the unseen, creating ethereal artworks which weave together thoughts, memories and observation to evoke a sense of forgotten familiarity, or half-remembered dream.
"Having long been associated with folklore, rituals and other realms, being cocooned amongst the trees on my daily woodland walk, allows my imagination to roam and reconnect with a place where magic and nature become one of the same. My work often begins with an abstract thought, idea or emotional response to this landscape".
